Jim Nix is a landscape painter. Outside or in his studio, Jim enjoys the challenge of different subjects and strives to create paintings for others to enjoy. With a long career as a firefighter who retired as a captain after thirty years service, Jim now has an opportunity to more fully pursue oil painting. He enjoys reading and studying different artists and their methods of painting. Jim is self taught and continues to study and explore. Painting to Jim is like any other thing in life, sometimes you have failures and sometimes you have successes, but you continue on. Jim is currently a member of the San Diego County Art Mart association ,Midway Art Association in Utah, and often displays his paintings at local exhibitions and galleries.
