Cindy Pitou Burton began her career as a photojournalist in New York City, as a photographer for The New York Times. She has photographed for CBS, NBC and PBS, for the magazines Discover, Country America and Ladies Home Journal and for corporate clients such as Pfizer and Revlon. She has also photographed events and celebrity weddings in NYC and CT. She studied photography at The International Center for Photography and the School of Visual Arts in New York City as well as the Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles.
Since moving to the west coast she has been exploring alternative photographic processes, working with transfers of Polaroid prints onto watercolor paper as well as digitalizing and manipulating her photographs, creating limited edition archival prints on watercolor papers.
Ms. Burton has exhibited her work in galleries in NYC and Los Angeles and is represented by Getty Images in Seattle. She is a member of the American Society of Media Photographers and the Ojai Studio Artists.
