Leopold Gallery was founded by Paul Dorrell in 1991. Prior to that, Dorrell worked as Director's Assistant at Hill-Stead Museum in Farmington, CT. The mission of Leopold is the promotion of regional artists on a national level.

Leopold is responsible for the art program at H&R Block World Headquarters. Other clients include the National D-Day Memorial; the University of Kansas Hospital; DLR Group Architecture in Chicago; the Mayo Clinic; the City of Hartford; G.E. Aircraft Engines, and scores of private, civic and corporate collectors. We consulted on a monument of Dwight D. Eisenhower for the Capitol Building in Washington, DC; oversaw all art for the Overland Park Convention Center, and for the 2007 Kansas Inaugural.

Dorrell's first published book was Living the Artist's Life. This acclaimed guidebook for artists took him on a tour of 60 cities, where he won praise for his talks at venues such as The Art Students League of New York, the Rhode Island School of Design, and dozens of bookstores. He has been interviewed on some 35 Public Radio stations and in over 100 newspapers and magazines.

The staff at Leopold is committed to promoting regional culture, as we also structure mentoring programs for teenage artists. Please drop by for a visit. Art is our passion, but having fun with it is one of our priorities. You'll find we are the antithesis of art snobbery.
