Ripe Art Gallery is pleased to present “Peep” by Luke DeLalio, a brand new body of work, including drawings, multi media paintings, and photography. DeLalio was recognized as a LI Pulse VIP artist in 2009 on the basis of an extensive series of small charcoal and chalk drawings entitled, “Person, Chair, Picture.” Like much of Luke’s work, “Jesus:American”, his latest drawing series makes one laugh and wince at the same time. DeLalio loves reading, has a thing for faces and a penchant for inventing stories. He combines all this in “Peep”: police mug shots and screen grabs from television, photographs of mannequins and advertising images are combined with text to present viewers with opportunities to invent narrative and backstory. The result is visual black comedy that’s funny and sad at the same time. “Peep” by Luke DeLalio, will open on Saturday, June 16, 2012 from 4-7PM with the artist present to greet his guests and discuss his work. “Peep” will be on display at Ripe Art Gallery until July 7, 2012. Ripe Art is the 2012’s “Best Art Gallery” winner of LI Press’ Best of Long Island. Ripe Art Gallery is located at 67A Broadway, Greenlawn, NY 11740. We are open Tuesday through Thursday, 11AM - 6PM, Friday, 2 - 8PM, and Saturday, 11AM - 5PM. For more information, please visit www.ripeartgal.com, or call 631.239.1805.
