This October, the walls of The Loft will awaken with the work of Japanese artist Takuma Yamazaki, presenting a once-in-a-moment encounter with his boundary-breaking world of form, precision, and quiet vitality.

Takuma Yamazaki is an artist from Japan who listens closely to the life hidden within materials. Trained at Tama Art University and once a designer of cameras at Canon Inc., he learned the precision of form while seeking a deeper connection between objects and the living world.

His project Bio-Vide brought this vision to light in 2016, earning the Lexus Design Award and an exhibition in Milan. Later, Sound of Drawing invited blind participants to hear the act of drawing, a work that won the Grand Prix and Audience Award at the KOKUYO Design Award in Japan. These achievements revealed his gift for creating works that cross the line between invention and art.

In 2019, Yamazaki founded TAKUMA YAMAZAKI DESIGN. His collaborations since then have spanned continents, winning recognition in Europe, Asia, and the United States. Recent projects reach toward the cosmos, designing forms that support astronauts and future space exploration.

Calling himself a “Matter Tuner,” Yamazaki shapes objects that breathe with presence. His art invites us to feel the quiet energy of materials, where precision and spirit meet in harmony.
